First Run Food

Custom food packaging, printed for cafes, bars and restaurants

The cup your customer carries down the street is the cheapest advertising you will ever buy. We print cups, sleeves, napkins, coasters and bags with your logo, made by the factories that supply the bubble tea trade, with the food-contact paperwork to go with them.

Why these factories

Cups are a serious business where we make them

Asia drinks billions of cups of bubble tea a year, and almost every one of them is a printed PP cup with a heat-sealed film lid. That volume built a cup, film, sleeve and straw industry with tighter tolerances than anywhere else: the cup rim has to seal on a machine every time, the print has to survive condensation, and the film has to peel clean. Those are the factories we buy from, and they already export to the US every week.

What that means for you

  • Print quality that was designed for a drink that sweats, not a promotional giveaway.
  • Cup, lid, film, sleeve and straw from suppliers who already fit each other.
  • Food-contact certification as a standard document, not a special request.
  • Factories we work with directly, not through a trading company.

Custom restaurant packaging from one supplier

Most restaurant food packaging is bought piecemeal: cups from one distributor, napkins from another, bags from a third, and the logo never quite matches across them. We print the whole set from the same artwork file, so the takeout packaging that leaves your counter looks like one brand. If you are comparing custom food packaging companies, the questions that matter are the ones on this page: minimums, lead time, and whether the food-contact file exists.

Compliance, in plain terms

Paper and paperboard that touches food falls under FDA 21 CFR 176, plastics under 21 CFR 177. Inks are low-migration and the factory supplies a declaration for each run. For paper bags and wraps that need a grease barrier we specify PFAS-free coatings, since a growing list of states now bans intentionally added PFAS in food packaging. You get the documents with the order and you can hand them to a health inspector.

How it works

From artwork to delivery

01

Send the item and a quantity

A 16 oz cold cup, roughly 20,000 a year, logo attached. That is enough for a real quote. Pricing at two quantity breaks comes back in two business days.

02

Approve a proof

A digital proof first. On cups and coasters we can send a printed sample before the full run if you want to see the colour on the actual material.

03

Reorder without the setup

Plates and dies stay on file. A cafe that reorders cups every quarter just tells us the quantity. 6 to 8 weeks by sea, and faster on repeat runs.

Questions

Custom food packaging FAQ

What do you make for cafes and restaurants?

Printed cups in paper and plastic, coffee sleeves, napkins, bar coasters and mats, paper bags, takeout boxes and bakery boxes. Everything is printed to your artwork. We do not sell blank stock by the case.

Where is it made?

China, at export factories that ship to the US every week. They supply the bubble tea trade, which is the most demanding cup market in the world, and they print to US food-contact standards. Duties are included in the landed price on the quote, so there are no surprises at the port.

Is the packaging food safe?

Yes. Every item ships with the factory's food-contact documentation: FDA 21 CFR 176 for paper and paperboard, 21 CFR 177 for plastics, and low-migration ink declarations. Ask for the file before you order and we will send it.

What are the minimums?

Cups 10,000 per size, coffee sleeves 5,000, napkins 10,000, coasters 5,000, paper bags 5,000, takeout and bakery boxes 5,000 per size. Bar mats start at 500.

How long does it take?

6 to 8 weeks door to door by sea, air freight quoted on request. Reorders are faster because the plates and dies already exist.

What custom food packaging supplies do you not make?

Foam containers, plastic clamshells and moulded fibre trays. Foam is banned in a growing list of states, and the other two are made near you cheaper than we can ship them. Everything we do make is printed paper or plastic that packs flat or nests, which is what keeps sea freight cheap.

Do you serve cannabis businesses too?

Yes, through a separate division of First Run Supply with its own pages. The two product lines do not share factories, artwork or stock.
